Syrup for Melomakarona

300g of water
600g caster sugar
190g of honey
A stick of cinnamon
Two cloves
Half a lemon juice
A squeezed orange juice (the orange you zested for the cookie works very well)


1. Put everything to boil in a pot;

2. Once it boils, stir and simmer for 15 minutes on low heat;

3. Use the syrup as indicated in point 12 of the Melomakarona recipe.

4. You can save the remaining syrup to make flavored pancakes (like these …)
